To satisfy the increased processing and every expanding memory needs required by smart meters, Accent offers the ASM201. The device's ample performance and system capabilities provides a one-chip solution for all Smart applications and communications processing, for within the home and meter-to-meter as well.

 

The 192 MHz ARM® ARM926EJ-S™ device integrates a high-precision AFE and Accent DSP for energy measurement, 2.4 GHz IEEE® 802.15.4 transceiver and PHY for ZigBee® support, LCD controller, on-chip Flash and SRAM, external DRAM support, and sophisticated power management unit. The ASM201's unprecedented integration replaces as many as five ICs for unparalleled system capability and significant cost reduction compared to available discrete solutions.

 

ASM201's energy measurement module integrates a high precision AFE and proprietary DSP for a best-in-class single-phase, residential metering solution, with added support for tamper detection. The integrated 802.15.4 radio subsystem provides support for popular home networking technologies including ZigBee® IP.

 

The ASM201's full-featured PMU simplifies power management and provides microamp operation in standby mode with retained state information. The ASM201 supports a number of communication interfaces including SPI, I2C, and UART as well as hardware-based security mechanisms. Additional system capabilities include multi-channel DMAs, general-purpose ADC, temperature sensor, and GPIOs.
