Federico Arcelli

Federico Arcelli | Chief Executive Officer

 

Joining Accent in 2007, Federico Arcelli brings more than 22 years of experience in the semiconductor, IP and communications industries. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Arcelli worked as Corporate Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing at VeriSilicon, a leading Design Foundry headquartered in North America. He also worked as Vice President of Corporate Marketing and Vice President of Sales EMEA at CEVA (NASDAQ: CEVA), a leading licensor of semiconductor IP. In this role, he contributed to more than $50M in revenue generation.

 

 

Mr. Arcelli advanced to CEVA from Texas Instruments, where he held various management positions including DSP and OMAP third-party Manager and European ASIC Marketing Manager. Earlier, he acted as Engineering Manager for Italtel S.p.A. (Italy). At the beginning of his career he held various R&D positions at Allied Signal Bendix, Baltimore, MD and at Agusta Sistemi S.p.A. (Italy).

 

Mr. Arcelli received an Electrical Engineering degree, summa cum laude, from University of Rome "La Sapienza".

Piero Martinotti

Piero Martinotti | Chairman

 

Mr. Martinotti has served as Chairman of the Board since 2006.  Until 2003 he was Corporate Vice President of STMicroelectronics, responsible for its New Ventures Group, which was created to identify, evaluate and incubate opportunities for new business development. Prior to that, Mr. Martinotti has served in a number of leadership roles including CEO of Innovative Silicon Technology and Corporate Director of Technology and Strategy for SGS.  He started his career at Motorola Semiconductors. Mr. Martinotti is currently a board member of Upek.

Luis Arzubi

Luis Arzubi | Board Member

 

Mr. Arzubi has served has served on the board since September 2010.  He is a General Partner of Tallwood Venture Capital where his with more than 30 years of experience in various engineering, management and executive roles with IBM, brings a distinctive and valuable technologist and customer point of view to the Firm and its Portfolio.  Before joining Tallwood, Luis was a member of the executive team for IBM’s Microelectronics Division. Most recently he served as Vice President and General Manager for the division, where he was responsible for all the semiconductor business segments. During the 1990s he played the key role in moving IBM Microelectronics into the OEM business and making it succeed.  Earlier, Luis was the General Manager for IBM's Burlington, Vermont, site, where he was responsible for two mega fabs and the development lab.

 

Luis currently also serves on the board of directors of Cavendish Kinetics, Qspeed, Sandbridge Technologies and SVTC. He is the inventor of five key memory patents and has published more than two dozen technical papers.

 

Luis holds a B.S. and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the National University of Littoral in Argentina.

Jean Schmitt

Alessio Beverina | Board Member

 

Mr. Beverina has served on the board since 2012.  He is Partner in technology where he focuses in the cleantech field for Sofinnova Partners.  He started in April 2005 as an analyst within the technology team, focusing on the semiconductor, components, energy, materials and systems domains. He is now fully dedicated to cleantech. He began his career in 1997 as a researcher at LETI, one of the most important European Labs in the research field applied to electronics. From 2000 to 2003, he worked in the central R&D group for STMicroelectronics, in charge of advanced CMOS technologies. Mr. Beverina holds 5 patents and has published several publications. He currently serves on the boards of McPhy Energy, Revolt and Neosens.

 

Mr. Beverina graduated from Politecnico di Milano, with a degree in chemical engineering, specialising in the chemistry and physics of solid materials, and with an MBA from the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Paris (ESCP-EAP). He is a Kauffman Fellow.

Jay Deng

Jay Deng | Board Member

 

Mr. Deng has served on the board since 2012. He has been in the Hi-Tech Industry for 24 years, including 3 years in PE, 11 years in Senior Management, and 10 years in Technology Development Management. He is the Managing Director and founding partner of WestSummit Capital management. WestSummit is a global techonology investment PE fund with a “China Angle”. He was partner of Pacific Venture Partners(PVP). In 1996, he was the President & CEO of Advanced Communication Devices Corporation. He was Senior Engineer and Project lead of National Semiconductor (Silicon Valley), LSI Logic (Silicon Valley), and Semiconductor Institution of Ministry Of Posts and Telecommunications of PRC. He was Chairman of Truebroad Technology (shuzhou) co.,Ltd. He is also Chairman of Centec Networks Co. Ltd. Director of Legend Silicon Corp, and vice Chairman of Shanghai Haier Integrated Circuit Co.,Ltd. In 2005 and 2006, he served as President of TEEC Shanghai Branch.

 

Mr. Jay Deng got his BS from Tsinghua University in 1983, and MS from North Dakota State University in 1990. He has 5 U.S Patents.

Pasquale Pistorio

Pasquale Pistorio | Board Member

 

Mr. Pistorio has served on the Board of Directors since 2006.  He is the former President and CEO of STMicroelectronics, bringing a wealth of expertise on the global microelectronics industry.  In addition to his involvement with Accent, Pistorio sits on the Boards of the Fiat Group (Italy), Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing (Singapore), Brembo (Italy) and serves as Chairman of the Board at Sagem Wireless (France) and Atos Origin (France). In 2004 – 2007, he was a Member of the Board at Telecom Italia and its Chairman from April to December 2007. Mr. Pistorio spent the first part of his career with Motorola before taking the helm of ltaly's SGS Microelettronica in 1980.  After SGS and France's Thomson Semiconducteurs merged to create SGS-THOMSON Microelectronics, now STMicroelectronics, he led the company to one of the top five semiconductor companies in the industry.

 

Mr. Pistorio graduated in Electrical Engineering from the Polytechnic of Turin with a Degree in Electrical Engineering.

Jay Deng

Michele Russo | Board Member

 

Mr. Russo has served on the board since 2012. He is Chairman & CEO Opera SGR, a private equity fund manager founded by Bulgari and bought by Mr. Russo in 2007. Since then, he has been running its two funds plus two new additions, Cape I and II funds. Opera specialises in PE investments in small and medium cap excellent Italian companies, especially in the sectors of design, fashion and in world leaders in small global niches. Prior to Opera, Mr. Russo worked for Lazard, Doughty Hanson, Olivetti, Stet (Telecom Italia), Morgan Stanley and IBM.

 

He has an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Naples.

Alberto Sangiovanni Vincentelli

Alberto Sangiovanni Vincentelli | Board Member

 

Prof. Sangiovanni-Vincentelli has served on the board since 1993.  He has been the Chief Technology Advisor of Cadence Design Systems Inc. since June 1999, which he co-founded as well.  Dr. Sangiovanni-Vincentelli has been a Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at the University of California, Berkeley since 1976.

 

He was a Co-Founder of SDA Systems Inc. as well as a Co-founder of Synopsys. Dr. Sangiovanni-Vincentelli consulted for a number of U.S. companies including IBM, Intel, ATT, GE, Harris, Nynex, HP, United Technology, and Japanese companies including Kawasaki Steel, where he held the title of Chief Technology Advisor, Fujitsu, Sony, and Hitachi, and European companies including ST Microelectronics, Alcatel, Daimler-Chrysler, Ericsson, Magneti-Marelli, BMW, Bull, and COMAU.

 

Dr. Sangiovanni-Vincentelli received an Electrical Engineering and Computer Science degree, "Dottore in Ingegneria", summa cum laude, from the Politecnico di Milano, Milano, Italy in 1971.
